The V.A.R.I. Challenge

Take voltage, amperage, resistance and insulation readings on a live Kontrol panel — open it up, land the leads on the right terminals, dial in the right test and read it.

  • V Voltage — incoming service across L1–L2
  • A Amperage — clamp the running conductor
  • R Resistance — motor windings, locked out
  • I Insulation — windings to ground at 500 V

Duplex Wiring Simulator

Wire a duplex lift-station panel from lockout to handover: land the incoming feed, set four floats in the wet well, wire them to the strip, prove the pumps alternate and test the alarm.

  • 1 Lock out, tag and prove dead
  • 2 Incoming power and the 120 V jumper
  • 3 Float elevations in the wet well
  • 4 Float wiring and jumper J2
  • 5 Pump alternation check

These are training exercises, not a wiring diagram. The photographed panels are two real builds; terminal numbers, float logic and test values in the other two follow standard duplex practice so the sequence sinks in. On site, wire and test to the drawing inside the panel in front of you, and follow your own lockout procedure.
